4.4V8 petrol starting problem

Afternoon - I'm an interloper from the Disco forum, but have a question for someone I know who has a problem with his 4.4V8 Sport.

He ran out of fuel a week or so ago and ever since it is very intermittent at starting - mostly it fires up, runs for a few seconds and stops.

No faults stored relating to engine. (IID Tool)

He used a Snapon when it first wouldn't start which indicated cam sensor fault - he changed both has changed battery and today changed the intank pump.

Anyone got any further ideas?
