On/off-road package

Hi from Finland
I am planning to change my Evoque to Sport. This on/off-road package is a question for me to buy or not. In Finland the prices for car itself and accessories are much higher than in England. So could you give me advice is this packet worth of buying? My car salesman said you don't need it in normal driving but if you drive really fast on winding roads it is useful. So any comment would be useful. The price in Finland is about 6 500 €.

Dear Petri,

I think this RRS is already delivering confident driving in bad weather conditions, even without the pack.
It's the worlds best SUV with a real heritage since the seventies... You cannot say that about German SUV's Laughing
I love this car Thumbs Up

6500 € ... How many "Plevnan Siperia Imperial Stout" beers is that?

Greetings from Belgium,
CG

Please "Seef" (read save) this planet!
It's the only one with beer!

The on/off road pack is essentially the Dynamic add on to the basic HSE spec. You get the active anti-roll and the electrically locking rear diff in this package as well as the low range transfer.

The off road only pack gets you the low range box.

Only you can tell if the dynamic option will suit your driving style. In Finland, I think I would probably go for the off-road pack as a minimum. Smile Regards

Malcolm

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

What Malcom said! I too came from not one but 2 Evoques but owned RRS's before them. I woudl say that if you really value taking your RRS off tarred roads then go for the Dynamic Pack, if you only intend to use the car as a school run, commuter car that only does the occassional long holiday drive on fast roads then forget the Dynamic Pack. Both the Evoques I had were Dynamics and these system does the same things in RRS at firming things up, but it does need to be on twisty mountain pass sort of driving rather than lon sweeping motorway curves/ bends. I off road my cars and the RRS was supposed to allow me to reduce from owning 2 capable vehicles to one that could cover the functions of both. My other car is a Defender90 and I haven't been able to even think about selling it, it would break my heart I love it so, but it is a hopeless car on the road! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thank you about comments Thumbs Up

I think off-road package is anyway necessary. I have driven the car without on-road package and it was very stable. I might save the money for beer.

Similar pricing here in Sweden, so I understand your question. I took mine on a 8000 km road-trip this summer across Europe, covering everything from German autobahn, to Austrian alpine serpentine roads and off-roading in the Italian mountains (gravel/rock path). IMHO, unless you are planning to follow a SISU APC through the Finnish woods or try the Nurburgring, you should be fine without the on-/off-road or the off-road package. 2015 Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6, Corris Grey

I am glad to hear that. So far it seems to be a bit waste of money to buy on-/off-road package. And for my driving style sdv6 hse model is fine. Another question is colour but that's another topic. LR should have more colour options. Black looks fine as on my Evoque Barolo Black but Corris Gray is practical.

It is nice to have this forum and I appreciate all comments!

Dear Petri,

I had a Jaguar XF and XJ in Ultimate Black.
I have the RRS in Corris Grey colour now.
The black Hawke Chayton wheels with polished highlights are a dream to clean and are very good for camouflaging brake dust. Only wipe the polished parts and they look clean already! (Also see the new Hawke Harrier wheels. They look fantastic I think).
I can assure you this is indeed very practical.
The dynamic version's with black accents and contrasting roof in black are maybe the best of both worlds...

Greetings,
CG

That looks very sporty! The black roof with Corris Grey is a nice combination. I have to think about that.

Thank's.
