Hi RigPig, the RRS never had the TD5 so unlikely that you will get many responses here, suggest you ask over on the Discovery 2 forums here http://www.discovery2.co.uk or even over on the Defender 2 forums as Defender 1 also had the TD5 motor and there is a section on Defender2 for TD5 owners on this lionk http://www.defender2.net/forum/td5-vf18.ht...596a92f6ec BTW you shouldn't need to create a login for Defender2.net as it is a forum also owned by Martin Lewis and he has created a sign in link for all his forums so you don't need to reregister for each 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

If your not loosing water then check/ change thermostat, check water pump, it's driven by the power steering pump in the housing under the air con compresser, are you sure it is over heating or a faulty coolant senser.
If you are using water then check for visible leaks could be the head gasket, any sign of water in the oil though this doesn't always happen depending where the gasket has blown 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Its not using any water, and if left for 5 minutes or so temp goes straight back to normal so could be a sensor I guess.

More likely just cooling down enough to start up out of limp home mode. Another thing to check is a blocked rad see if there are any cold spots 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

This you didn't mention could lead more towards the senser playing up intermittently. If it's over heating in traffic could be worth checking the vicious fan, never seen it on a TD5 before but you never know.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
