Brake Pads

Hi,

Just a quick question, my brake pad warning light has just come on a week before it is being traded in at a dealer!

I am about to do a 600 mile round trip this friday on motorways mainly and wondered should i really get them replaced before or is this something that could wait as don't really fancy paying just before i trade it in.

Secondly do you think the landrover dealer will change his price unknown to both of us that this has come on?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Oli

United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Zambezi Silver

You should have at least 1000 miles of pad life left - more on motorway - from when warning comes on. When you hear the rivets grinding on the disk is when you have real trouble Smile not sure if the dealer would charge for that in uk. Here, dealer would have to replace pads anyway if they are close to end of life ...

Cheers alpaca, I called the dealer as would rather be honest with him and he said not a problem but was unsure how long i had.

Your 1,000 mile lifespan remaining would sound about right
