Hi - last weekend my 2011 3.0 RRS made a massive noise on the motorway followed by red triangle messages and Amber messages (reduced performance, oil monitoring pressure etc etc) and came to a gradual holt. Car taken to a garage on the back of a recovery lorry where they have I formed me that the engine has got something majorly mechanical going wrong inside (they suspect a broken crankshaft on one side) - engine will start but misfires due to injector issues however does not run smoothly to say the least. No oil loss, no smoke out the exhausts.

Waiting for a formal quote however concerns they have not replaced an engine on one of these before (as the body needs to be removed from the chassis)

Gutted that only 4 years old and 46k miles on the clock and they seem to be talking about £10k+ (but not confirmed yet)

Cutting to the chase - I'm looking for any contacts for a garage that has undertaken an engine replacement on one of these before (ideally in Warwickshire) and any contacts for sourcing a replacement engine (I think they mentioned a stripped engine meaning without the ancillary parts)

Any help would be appreciated please........thanks

Yes I have LR service history but wasn't purchased through a main dealer so not sure if that will make any difference?!?! I'm certainly going to be sending an email to JLR
