Bradders new wheels

After much deliberations and arm twisting, compounded by the need to buy a flat for the off-spring, the Beemer went today, thankfully after getting too good an offer to refuse. So it's being replaced with a Golf GTD on a too good to miss business lease and the cash can go towards the deposit on the flat.

Who'd 'ave thought - 12 months ago we had a 911 and Sport and now I've got a bicycle and a 2 week wait for a Golf....... Big Cry

Off-spring no. 1 has moved to London and is looking to buy a flat in Brixton, where he currently rents. It just doesnt make any sense to rent long term when two tenants will easily cover the mortgage and he can pay 50% rent. So I'm off to see some flats for him this week and it's bread and water for me and SWMBO for the foreseeable.......

Speaking with Estate Agents they all seem to expect asking price offers and being a Yorkshireman that just doesnt compute.....is the housing market that crazy in London ?? FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

It is crazy indeed. Even in my modest suburban neighbourhood, some houses have sold for MORE than the initial asking price in the last 2 years because there were more than one interested parties. Let's see how long this lasts... Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Thanks FK. I was hoping you might be able to offer some advice and you've confirmed my suspicions. Ouch Big Cry

I can only see prices increasing given the prevalence of overseas investors. My accountant reckons he has seen a 20% increase in the 2 years since he bought in West Hampstead. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

London is just a big money laundering system for foreign nationals. They're laughing all the way to the bank and the rest of the UK population is suffering the consequences. A few Londoners do well out of it all and then move out of London. Sadly they then inflate the prices elsewhere and push out the local buyers.

Sadly, the political classes are too scared/in awe to do anything about it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

My daughter sold her house within a day of it going up for sale and got 5k more than asking price.
Seems it is a sellers market at the moment.
Not sure us ordinary folk gain anything, just have to borrow more.
How young people get on the housing ladder is just getting harder.
Bank of mum and dad getting used a lot more. MY13.5 Autobiography, Santorini Black, Privacy Glass. Gone
