No smoke , get 'engine system fault ' on dash then no power in acceleration , just coasts to a standstill. Switch off , start up again and seems to be ok.

Hello. I have a TDV8 here in France. We do all the maintenance here in our own workshop, as can't afford the mortgage that would be needed to pay for French servicing. All that is, except taking it back to the UK last year for a body off and new turbos .............. but when the body was off, they found it was both exhaust manifolds having warped that was causing the problem! Fitted the new turbos anyway, as the body was off. Have had split top intercooler hoses before (2), and all in all are well accustomed to engine system fault codes and re-booting from limp mode. New problem now: same old symptoms, but with what sounds like a fan roar, emulating engine revs, but trailing the actual engine slightly. My diag unit gives P0101 and P023D - same old, same old - so I am suspecting a broken bottom turbo air hose, allowing me to hear the turbo roar. Had an hour to look at it the other day, and took the skid plate off, and then the two plastic shrouds on the chassis either side of the suspension, but of course that didn't let me see anything. Should the next move be to remove the inner plastic wheel arch? Any advice gratefully received! |

I have the same problem with my tdv8. Did you find the problem with your tdv8? I am off to the dealer tomorrow but mine goes into limp mode every few kilometers so any advice would be appreciated. Regards Chris |
