Greenlaning in the Freelander

Well I got out to do some greenlanes yesterday, so I thought I'd share the pics with you.

The second to last pic was the scariest moment, the Freelander kept sliding towards the wall. I thought we were going to get a scratch and dent to match the other side! Can't wait until next weekend now, we're off to Farley Quarry that Kaine recommended to do some off roading. 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE

Laughing Laughing Laughing I did mention to the Range Rover owner I fancied giving the Freelander a clean in the lake, he didn't seem to keen on the idea.

It was on the Denbigh Beacons somewhere. Not sure where, we just followed the Rangey Laughing 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE

Nice, Andy! Who says the FL can't do stuff offroad? As long as you don't do stuff that needs some decent ground clearance it's fine! Thumbs Up

Yeah, there were a few points when we had to empty the Freelander into the Rangey because it was scraping too much. I think the exaust has come loose now. The Freelander isn't best in ruts! 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE

Andy you should join MAD Freelanders, they are a bunch of Freelander owners who do some pretty serious (well for a Freelander!) stuff.

I thought about joining the Freelander club at Malvern this year, but decided against it because they didn't do anything in this area. I don't know if MAD are the same, I'll look into it.

BTW, I did join a club at Malvern, and they went greenlaning yesterday too, but told me it would be unsuitable for Freelanders. Guess who we bumped into on that lane Laughing 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE

If you go to the photos pages on the MAD freelanders site and click on the "Argyle" 4x4 club that is where I go with my 90, only we go to somewhat more serious stuff than the Freebies did, but that forest is big enough that there is a site to suit all abilities, and if you don't fancy scratching the paintwork you can park up on the forest tracks and usually there is somebody who will take you round a stage in their 90 or 110 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
