SPEEDO RECALIBRATION

HI,
Just got a new set of 2015 20" wheels & 255/55/20 tyres . Putting them on a RRS1 . I think because the greater overall diameter the speedo will be under reading a fair bit. The RRS sat nav does not have a speed reading to assist in this area.
As this will cause big problems with all the Speed cameras and radar guns that we have here I want to know can the speedo be recalibrated and if so how Question
I see lots of RRS owners over in the U.K run high profile tyres at times and maybe have done this.
Any information would be appreciated.

When your speedo reads 100km/hr you're actually at 106.44 km/hr. 07MY RRS TDV6

Yes garrycol that seems about right .
You could remember the actual speedo reading for some of the speed limits but there is so many in Melbourne now. 15,40,50,60,75,80,90 100 & 110kph.They book you for +2kph down here south of the border. Crying or Very sad
I seem to have 3 choices 1. Do nothing and risk it. 2. See if the speedo can be recalibrated 3. Fix a aftermarket Sat/Nav or 'I something' over the existing display. Idea

On later vehicles, it's easy to adjust, but on the earlier ones, I understand it usually causes trouble, and is best left alone. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I have standard 60 series tyres on my 07 RRS so am going a few km faster than indicated on the speedo but not as much as you. I looked at adjusting the speedo but I found it was not possible - again a silly software design function - should be so easy to do on a digital system. I believe it can be done on the D4 equivalent vehicles.

I have a $85 Garmin GPS that works fine.

Garrycol - Yes I have several Navmans but how and where have you mounted it Question
I already have a rear camera screen mounted in front of the air vent LHS of steering wheel. I have looked at it - don't like widscreen mount-too far away/untidy.
Thought something in front of existing as its getting out of date and doesn't have half the functions of a Navman/Garmin.
Has anyone mounted one in front of existing Sat/Nav or put an I pad or similar in the spot Question

Really in your case, the only options you have is to mount it on the windscreen or if you do not want to use your current screen above the radio mount it in front of that screen - double sided velcro would do it and when needed you could unzip it to view other functions of the display.

I do not have the standard satnav so I have my Garmin mounted in that little cubby hole and there is still enough room for my phone etc.

Re Ipad etc - there are a few people who have done it - not sure if the threads are on here or over on the D3/D4 Disco UK site - do a search on both and something should come up.

I would be quite interested in this as when you say later vehicle what year are we referring to and how is it done? as I tried this on a 12plate MY13 car. Although there is a list of tyre/wheel size options listed in the CCF files they are all greyed out at 0% with the exception being wheel/tyre size the car came on. I have tried changing these with both GAP and Blackbox diagnostic tools and it will not allow me to do it.

Cheers
Col

By later, I was referring to 10MY-on, but actually, I think I may have got that slightly wrong. It may just be the trip computer/MPG that's corrected easily. Thumbs Up
