Lubricating noisy suspension bushes

My TDV8 has developed a very loud squeak in the NSR suspension. This corner had a very stubborn bolt at the last alignment check/adjustment that needed some heat to loosen it. Assuming the bush is now in need of replacement, is there any issue with a squirt of WD40 or a light oil on the bushes to kill the noise until I can get the arm changed? It's so noisy that just driving along a rough road has people looking where the noise is coming from!

Looks like my plans to refresh the suspension might be brought forward. Perhaps I'll do the rear one month, the front the following month. Or perhaps I'll just go for it and get the lot done in one go. Thinking arms and struts so it's going to be a noticeable dent in the toy fund. Gulp! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'd replace the hub bush. £35 for a genuine part, £1.50 for a circlip, and an hour to replace Whistle Thumbs Up

Is that the one at the top of the hub carrier/upright?

It would be nice if it's as simple as that but I doubt I'm that lucky! Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

One at the top, and one at the bottom. Both make the same noise, but most commonly the lower one that squeaks Thumbs Up

Thanks Mikey. I see Advance Factors have the Lemforder bushes at about the price you mentioned so I guess those are the chaps to get. I'm going to have a look at the workshop manual and see what's involved...

...and then probably phone my indie and book it in! Whistle Rolling with laughter

Will give them each a squirt of silicone to quieten them down though (and find which one is failing). It's embarrassing at the moment Embarassed 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Lemforder are OEM

Retail price for genuine is £32.57 + VAT, before any trade/Allegiance discounts.

There is a £0.49 (+ VAT) difference is cost between Genuine and OEM...

Thumbs Up
