SDV6 ECU Remap

Thinking of having my SDV6 remapped! Has anybody had their SDV6 remapped and what difference has it made? DMS are quoting 33hp extra taking it from 295bhp to 328bhp & 103 extra torque LB/FT which is worth having! My question is dose it improve the danger of getting T-boned when attempting to pull out of junctions in a hurry? I've lost count of the times I've little more than crawled out of a turning in to a small gap Embarassed I know we can select sport and drop in in to 1st to speed things up a bit but by the time you've done all that the moments gone!! Laughing I've got quite a busy roundabout at the end of my road and having had so many near misses with busses and HGV's when I'm trying to pull out in to a small gap that I'm now terrified of pulling out until I can see the best part of next week when I look up the road! Rolling with laughter Cheers Laurence.

Remapping will give you a difference. Best thing is to maybe try a ride in someone elses remapped RR.

Im sure there'll be someone close to you who'd be willing to let you experience theirs. As for the question will it help pulling out at junctions? Only well timed manouvers should allow that rather than relying on more power, as im pretty sure you have more than enough already.

Those figures will be for the L494 RRS. The L320 (1st gen) SDV6 produces 255 BHP.

Also I don't think the ECU can be remapped without removing the ECU, so it would invalidate any warranty you may have. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Try Alive tuning, I believe they have mapped SDV6 Disco 4s over on the Disco forum. Maybe worth searching over there for some more info Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

It begs the question, if it's such an issue, why is 1St gear not always selected?

But yes, speak to Alive Tuning. It is an ECU out job, but they achieve over 300bhp from the 8 speed models Thumbs Up
