Tailgate locked 2006 S/C

Hi all,
tailgate is firmly staying shut, neither top or bottom will open, have tried lock/unlock buttons on dash, disconnected battery, no tailgate open messages on dash or horn sounding when locking car.
any ideas??

Does the fuel flap open?? Common problem on Freelander 2 and blows fuse ! 5.0 Ltr Superchrged RRS2, Chile Red, Sideways out of junctions!
TDV8 HST Stornaway on a 08.. remapped.. now gone and replaced, was a mighty fine car..
4.2 SC First Edition when they first came out, quick car!

Andrew, Top man Bow down pulled the fuse, checked with meter and reading ok but replaced anyway, checked faults with IID tool (hadn't got it with me last night) and getting "Lower tailgate release circuit" so cleared it and all ok Thumbs Up
