http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbys...-cars.html I've said it before but I will say it again - this is a slippery slope. I trust the investment here is a sign of continued British production - if we lose that JLR are dead to me Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

JLR isn't British anyway; it's owned by the Indians and they just let the Brummies build the vehicles for them...

As long as a British workforce build it in a British factory and it's designed by a British design centre then that's as British as it gets now

It'd be nice if it were the other way round; British made parts, assembled in the country of sale (including Britain).

LR can't physically make any more vehicles in their UK factories. I can't see them building a new factory complex in the UK to then ship product to China et al when they can do the same in China for much lower cost. The workforce are cheaper too.
