What sort of budget are you trying to work to?

The sort of budget that allows for an accident damaged vehicle, preferably running, as it will make my life much easier

EDIT: Unless its a very cheap, straight car

In all honesty, I could break that one for spares, and sell what I don't need to make some money back, and get down to my budget. But I don't have a spare £14K for a project. In fact, I don't even have £14K, but that's besides the point

I was thinking the same, that you could strip it and sell the unwanted parts to help finance the rest of the project.
