Buying a 2012 RRS with 75000miles

Have been browsing the forum these last few days with interest. Have to say its a great help. I have been saying should I or should I not buy a RRS. Some owners have had awful problems with there RRS but I think its how much the RRs is loved by all that has persuaded me to try and buy the RRS. But i need a little bit of help from experienced owners.

Currently have an Evoque and looking to upsize to a RRS. Found a car I like. Its a 2012 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6 with HST Bodykit. and the car looks great except for the alloys have a little wear and tear. It was sold originally through the Dealer and Main Dealer serviced elsewhere. It was traded in for 2015 RRS. I have only 2 worries about it firstly that it has 75000 miles on the clock and a tow bar.

Is there anything i should be looking for at this mileage that may need to be done soon? Or any wear and tear items to watch out for with this mileage. Any help would be much appreciated.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi Mate, welcome to the forum !

Broadly speaking, "go for it !" but I would find it difficult putting a value on one like that with above average miles. I would expect to pay substantially less than the norm, but in my experience some sellers seem to think that +50K miles above the average, only equates to a small reduction in price.
certainly when I bought mine, that was the case, so I just walked away, and bought one with much less miles for about the same price.
The other thing to factor in is, if you are going to do 12K miles a year, in a couple of years it'll be nearly at 100K, and lots of buyers will start blanking it, should you try to sell. Just food for thought.

Be choosy, as there are plenty out there, good luck. Thumbs Up

Thanks for your reply. I'm based in Ireland so they are very scarce. I have being trying to do a deal and it's now down to the dealer to come back. There is very little difference in our cost of change but I am not budging now. I have test driven the car and it seems fine. If I do a deal I will give it a good test drive again. Just I am not an expert on what to look out for.

At 12,500 miles a year you will have a car with 100,000 in 2 years , and looking at a major service, and timing belt change. which can be very expencive. There are not many RRS in Ireland because a dealer in Brentwood buys all of them. Do some thinking, and do not jump with stars in your eyes itisme

Thanks for the info Gary.. Main reason there is not many is a recession and the pre 12 is 2350 a year road tax... Although I am now seeing many RRS2 about Razz

Anyway went ahead and made purchase. Full service history at 2 other main dealers. Got a 3 year warranty including wear and tear. How good it is I hope I never have to find out.
