how did you find the lock n level? been thinking of buying the twin axle version to aid putting on the alko locks, just a bit sceptical as it needs to be left at the storage site open to the elements when the caravan not in use, so technically outside 24/7 and open to the elements

Hi Nick

There has been some discussions on CaravanTalk regarding using these long term i.e. winter storage and it was confirmed that this is not an issue by the sellers provided deflated Bow down

Quote:
We don't recommend that your Lock'n'Level is left inflated for storage, as we only envisage it for touring. Additional protection such as a rubber mat placed under the device would be recommended.
Whilst there is nothing to suggest that any permanent damage will occur, it would be a matter of personal choice if you did this. I guess, once you had experience with the Lock 'n' Level and with knowledge of your storage pitch, you could make a judgement call on this. We would definitely not recommend that you leave it inflated for the purposes of storage.
In long term tests we have left it under the wheel, completely deflated, and there was no effect apart from some cosmetic damage in the form of an imprint of the caravan tyre on the surface that won't wash off!

I am including mats I used to protect the bag from punctures - recommended on gravel and long term use Thumbs Up

I didn't need it for levelling because the site we were using was level so I bought a single axle version just to fit locks and for punctures. It was lot easier than jack and safer - had close call last year when jack slipped on gravel/sloping site Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

So far the only things that have sold here have been practically given away and I've lost a fortune Shocked

I've had a word with swmbo about donation and she says I can't afford it but perhaps everyone who purchases one of my mint discount accessories could make a donation to show their appreciation of the money they've saved thanks to the site Whistle Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Off Topic but we have one on our twin axle & makes fitting the locks a doddle, a 3 min job and levels the van without the hassle of trying to reverse/drive on ramps a pain in a twin axle

Ours is also stored on a storage site so on 24/7 no problems so far Thumbs Up Paul
