Remap and EGR Removal RRS 2010

Hello all,

I am looking at getting my RRS MY10 remapped and the EGR's removed.

I have looked at remaps online and there seem to be a few different choices regarding BHP one company is offering a 300 BHP@£245(very local to me but know nothing about them).

Another is offering 300 BHP@£275(who is mobile and come to you and has a web site)

Another is offereng 3 different remaps Economy Map 275 bhp, Performance Map 285 bhp and a Towing Map 275(this map has more torque than the Economy map) all three are £395(about 20 miles away from me and has a web site)

Which one to pick?

EGR removal can I buy a blanking kit and blank the hole's and remove the pipes and the butterfly valve and then when getting it remapped get the valves removed from the software?

I have searched the forum and can't find any info on MY10 EGR removal or can't it be done?

Regards

Paul

The 3.0 can't currently be blanked to my knowledge. If you have a DPF it will also never be possible (unless it is removed).

In terms of the remap, I don't really like it when companies offer what appears to the end user as a choice of set maps. All remaps (unless fake copies) have to be custom tailored to the car and should be based on asking the customer about their intended use etc.

Remaps are also not all about horsepower, they're about improving the drivability of the car, and, they must be sympathetic to the components of the vehicle. Some quoted figures will also be more realistic than others.

I would suggest you go for a reputable company, such as, for instance, Bell Auto Services (BAS) or Alive Tuning, both site sponsors. Of those qoutes, the first two are a bit too cheap for my liking, the latter seems quite conservative with the power gains, but certainly sounds better to me.

I suspect the latest BAS interface will allow you to apply the remap yourself (but a version applicable to the later vehicles isn't in their shop yet). Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
