Not wanting to push you away from this forum but AULRO might be a good place to look as it seems you guys over there tend to get more off-road action than we do or that people actually allow. There's a post that offers some knowledge & I'm sure there might be more.

OK after a bit more digging I decided to risk it and get the Britoart front bash plate from the disco 3. Worst case I could resell it to a disco owner.

in regard to your snorkel, ensure the airbox has been sealed as well, JS who had one fitted

I fitted it myself. It still has the original porus pipe in the inner wing which I'll need to replace before going too deep. Andy

How sturdy does that britpart plate seem? Their products often leave a lot to be desired... |

It seems pretty solid. Haven't tested it in anger yet but I'd say it's easily as strong as other alloy ones I've used before. Andy
