Supercharge First Edition-2005???

Hi all, I'm actively looking for my first sport and I fancy the supercharged model.

I've come across "first edition" models. What are these models? How do they differ from other supercharged models of 2005 age?

I googled it and found nothing.

Thanks
Adam

Not entirely sure... I've got a Supercharged and it was registered in March 2005 so could possibly be one? Don't know how to tell myself... nothing mentioned on the V5.

Great car though Thumbs Up

I have all the 2005 launch documentation and there is very little mention of the First Editions in any of it, even the dealership only product directory doesn't mention them!
From the 2005 Price list it appears that your First Edition RRS was available only in the 4.2lS/C in either Vesuvius Orange (Only 300 made for World wide sales) , Zambesi Silver or Java Black with 20" Stormer style wheels, on the inside , over the standard 4.2 V8 it had "Hand Polished REAL Lined Oak door and dash inserts" Range Rover Branded carpet mats and bright door tread strips and that was it over the normal 4.2V8 - oh and in 2005 you paid £59000 for the priviledge of a First Ed whereas for the standard S/C you paid £57500, so you didn't get much apart from exclusivity for your £1500 unless you were able to get hold of one of the very few Vesuvius Orange ones! Today I would say that a First Ed is worth no more than a standard launch S/c, especially if it was a black or silver one as it was very easy to go to your local dealer and buy the 20" Stormers (I have the same wheel in black on my Evoque!), the mats and really only an anorak like me would notice the hand finish lined oak dash and door inserts! The Vesuvius Orange was also one of those "scintachrome" paints that changed from muddy brown on a dull day to a wonderful lustrous bright orange on a sunny one - so it was really the car to go for to be noticed 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for that Tim, guess mine can't be a true 1st Edition then given it's red! Wink

Thanks for all of that. So it's worth the same as a standard V8 now but has a few extra bits.

I see, thanks for clearing that up.

Now I need to go out and buy one! The hunt continues.

IIRC all UK 1st Editions were 55 plates and were sold out before launch in May/June 2005 regardless of the colour. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
