Just been looking for insurance quotes and they are all asking for some sort of tracker device. Have previously used Tracker on my Audis, but have spoke to my dealer and they say LR only recommend Navtrak. Does anyone have experience of Navtrak? Or any other tracker thye can recommend?

Just because LR "recommend" using Navtrak, doesn't mean you have to go with that. Tracker has much greater coverage in so far as all the police forces use it, so you're much more likely to get your car found with Tracker than anything else. It'll also keep your insurance company happy, which is an important factor!

Just been comparing insurance with either Navtrak or Tracker fitted. It makes no difference to the quote. So its just down to pricing and effectiveness, I supopose. Well...arguably Tracker is more "effective". But for this reason, it does have a price premium attached to it depending on the version you go for. If you're trying to keep it cheap, you might want to look at Trackstar (which is the RAC-badged product) - I think RRUK uses this.

Thanks for the info, but I would rather go with a product that I have used in the past and know works, so I'll go for the Tracker TDV6 HSE 2007 model, Stornoway Grey, Ivory leather,Privacy glass, Premium ICE Pack, side steps, tasmod sills, now towbar and seat covers |

I doubt it, they are a dealer after all! Tracker is certainly the one to go for given a free choice and as Gary says, all the police forces have the units in their cars.

Also Police helicopters, signal boosters on certain buildings and all UK exit points are monitored by Tracker devices. Plus depending on the system you go for cover in northern Europe is included. New Tracker systems use radio waves and satellite technology which gives you better coverage. All the others call the police to tell them where the car is. Where as with Tracker it often works the other way round and can be both. TDV6 - gone TDV8 - gone Audi Q5 3.0 Tdi Sline wef 6/11/10 |

I think the dealers tried to say that Navtrak uses less power, more like they get a nice big cut |
