Smoke on acceleration

Every now and again when I give it some fast acceleration, my 3.0 tdv6 RRS throws out some smoke from the exhaust. Is this normal or does it sound like I have a split pipe or something.
Today it smoked all the way up the road for about 15 seconds then stopped. Current 2010 Range Rover Sport HSE with the usual toys: timed climate, Rosen headrest screens, tow bar with twin electrics, Blackvue HD cam

2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Java Black

I had this until very recently on the same engine. After reading the forum I was convinced I had a cracked turbo hose but I couldn't find one. Anyway, gave that sensor on top of the engine a good clean out and problem solved.

My sport only really does long journeys so I was pretty sure it wasn't the dpf.

There's a huge thread somewhere. Lift the engine cover and its bang, smack in the middle. Looks like a black Lego piece held in by a single star screw.

I got round to cleaning the map sensor today, it wasnt that dirty tbh.
Refitted it and gave my RRS a little blast, it didnt kick out anything like it did yesterday. Thumbs Up
Plus my sensor had a bigger hole at the end, different to the ones in the photos on the disco site. Current 2010 Range Rover Sport HSE with the usual toys: timed climate, Rosen headrest screens, tow bar with twin electrics, Blackvue HD cam

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Tonga Green

Mine gives a few seconds of smoke on hard acceleration, even with silicone hoses and blanked EGR's. I've had a re-map though and have read that this can add to the smoke a little sometimes.

I find banging it in Sport & flooring causes much less smoke than in normal mode then flooring it. 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)
