I have a engine management light on,the code reader shows an error of P140A, I have been told that this relates to the EGR valves?, my code reader don't specify which one though,i can clear the code and all is well for a couple of day then comes back on,I have a 2007 sport, someone told me to use EGR cleaner on them and rev engine to 3000rpm to clean them ?, how and where would I use the spray cleaner to do this ? I know where the valves are so do I remove a pipe etc to spray into ? as I have been quoted £700 to replace both by a local 4x4 garage or less if only one is required.I have no loss of performance or black smoke etc so I guess the valve is sticking,how easily is it for me to change these ? I am technically minded so don't mind as long as access is ok , thanks for your hely with this guys,thanks.

P140A is the left hand bank.

Forget the EGR cleaner, it's a lost cause.

Blank the EGRs and get a remap to remove the EGR function from the software. Then no more filth going through the engine and better MPG.

If that were true, there are thousands and thousands of RRS/D3's just waiting to blow up

My EGRs were blanked nearly 40k miles ago, and quite a few of them have been HARD miles with its remap. No issues at all

Ok thanks Disco_Mickey, sounds like I am going to go the blanking route,could you recommend someone or somewhere near Essex that I could get the re map done and approx. how much I would expect to pay,thanks for your help.
