These sort of annoying flashes of doom and gloom are a bit of a feature and often occur as the result of a momentry spike somewhere. Having said that last November I had exactly the same reduced power experience with my 2014 Evoque, pulled off the M74 when I could (sudeen loss of power when you are doing 70+ on a two lane motorway with trucks all doing 60 in the inside lane is not good for the heart!) switched off and left the car to reboot all the ecu's on start up - there were no more nasty warnings. I drove home at normal motorway speeds and the next day took the car into the local dealership who were not the supplying dealership and they couldn't have been more helpful - they put the car on their diagnostic computer and found that the DPF sensor had been damaged. 3 weeks preeviously the car had had a gearbox software "up" grade that was really a downgrade and it had been problematical since. Transpired that there was a problem with the software. DPF sensor was on back order and the car was drivable so I was released with an appointment to take the car back the following week. I think if you haven't found any fault codes in the log file and the engine is running OK you should be OK to drive back home. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

In case anyone is interested we had a fantastic journey back from Austria, sailed Europort to Hull and the RRS behaved beautifully, no restricted performance this time. Total distance was 1,774 miles, computer showed 26.1 mpg average and fill-to-fill calculates at 24.83. I can think of no better vehicle for such a journey but that incident on the way to Austria did rattle me.

Great that the return trip was uneventful, agreed about the car being a great Grand Tourer - even better at it than a FFRR in my view as the handling is that little bit firmer and less "floaty" than a FFRR's high speed ride 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Zilch, never really been away.............. but 1 x 3.6 TDv8 L322 FFRR, 1 x Evoque Coupe Dynamic (both excellent cars) and 1 x Evoque Dynamic 5 door that was a rattlefest and LR's attempts to remap the 9 Speed Gearbox for some obscure reason best known to them ended up with it destroying a DPF sensor and my patience running out, so after toying with a Celebration Edition 110 Defender, yes I'm back in an SDv6 HSE Dynamic RRS2, and very pleased with it too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Following the Restricted Performance encounter a LR dealer read the fault codes and told me I need an "air flow meter", will be covered under warranty. Not sure if this is the airflow sensor but should find out on Monday. |
