United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Sumatra Black

I noticed there are two fillers on my SVR, so two bottles. The manual says of cold climate that the capacities are:

Main reservoir - 6.0 (10.6) Supplemental reservoir - 2.1 (3.7) [litres (pints)]

I assume the 'extra large' bottle in this case is therefore the second, supplemental reservoir.

The new configurator shows a picture of the two bottles

and the manual suggests that the main bottle should be filled first. it certainly seems that for our £30 we get a second bottle with 2.1l of extra capacity. I guess I'm going to have to find a bigger shelf in the garage for all the screen wash!

Have both on my MY14. I had always assumed that the extra bottle was the large one with the tiny nozzle hidden away above the wheel arch while the standard one was the very small one with the large nozzle sited in the usual place beside the radiator. Looking at the handbook I see I was wrong but the extra bottle increases the capacity by a third so seems good value – especially as I still have to fill up the system about once a fortnight in winter.

Perfect!

Thanks so much for the very thorough replies. It's just cost me another 30 quid!

I opted for the extra bottle on my MY14.5 and it does (or did in the winter) help, however I have a feeling the sensor only measures the main tank and the warning light seems to come on long before the bottle runs out, or am I wrong and they just give lots of advance warning?
Either way worth the extra £30 in my book. Colin

Does anyone know if the additional water bottle is retrofittable? I did my first long journey in my pre-owned L494 (MY15) yesterday and by the end of the day I had used the whole standard bottle up. Evil or Very Mad

If I could add the second bottle for a reasonable price I will.

I am not 100% sure, but believe I have read somewhere that the second bottle CANNOT be retro-fitted!!
