Cant offer advice on those indies as I'm not from London but as a benchmark in price etc, I have recently just had all 3 belts changed, cambelt, aux belt and fuel pump belt, pulleys/rollers, my oil casing was checked and found to be fine, had oil change, coolant change, brake fluid change, oil filters, pollen filters etc and dif oils changed all for £700 at my local indie garage using all oem parts. thanks for quick replys, yes 599 offer does seem rather a good price I'm just waiting to hear from them as to what they're gonna change, hopefully all 3 belts and pulleys and tensioners, if theres a chance they will do oil pump for free that would be great but i won't be holding my breath, maybe a call to customer care to test the waters before asking the dealer. so i take it that it is advisable to get the oil pump changed and it wasn't just a few random cases of these failing. also gonna be getting a wheel alignment done if anybody knows of a good place near me (north london) I'm aware of the tight tolerance mode and will be checking they do that. i was gonna use north one land rover for their offer of 79.99 wheel alignment but seen a few people saying they just try to find additional work, i know all dealers do this but from what I've read they seem to be worse than normal and secondly after requesting a quote for 105k service from them which took them over a week to get to me cause of computer failure I'm not impressed with service already and secondly the 'discounted' quote was 1379.00

If its all the belts and pulleys and a service for £599 I would be very surprised. Seems to good to be true. It sounds like they're just quoting for the cambelt to be replaced to me which is the easy one. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST. |

you may well be right which is why i have asked for complete breakdown of the works, i have had enough experience of bmw main dealers to know u have to double check everything and nothing beats having it in black and white ill update as to what is actually included when i find out but the service you got seems very good i would be happy with a figure like that if it changes all the fluids, was it a land rover specialist you used or just a normal independent garage.

Yes it was a local indie garage here however I knew someone else who had work done on his range rover there and found out theyve done a few range rovers with all the belts, they do all the belts in situe and even though most indies always say don't bother with back belt they will do it for you. Thats what takes the time. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST. |

I thought I would jump onto this thread and as a similar question to the OP that does not appear to have been answered.

Thanks. I know one of the guys at Brunswick well but have to admit I thought they specialised in VW/Audi/BMW. Just checked and they seem to now do LR as well. May use them as my friend will ensure it is all done properly.

i can now answer this myself, having had work done at a garage the work was ok but they seemed to have a rather lack of knowledge about the sport and everything seemed to take an eternity resulting in trips back and forward, i have SINCE used MRH LANDROVER SPECIALISTS in hertford, they are very friendly and more than helpful and have gone the extra mile with my car, they come across extremely knowledgable and i would without a doubt use them again.
