Cambelt

Hi all,

Just after a bit of assistance I have a 2007 rrs which is coming up to 65000 and now due a service I have been told that I should have the cambelt changed also. I have phoned around and priced the job up and found it to be a very costly affair, I have also been told by one of the garages I contacted that all three belts should be changed, although a couple have said only to change the front one.

Can anyone help or recommend a someone who is reasonably priced in my area, I am based in north wales buy I am willing to travel?

I have also located a lr specialist in York who is willing to supply and fit all 3 for 425 can anyone tell me if they have used the garage before and would they recommend them? They are called Quattro autocare and their website is lrserviceandrepair.co.uk

Thanks

hiya

if I remember right cambelt gets changed at 7 years or 105,000 miles, yours is obviously at the 7yr point.

the rear belt only drives the fuel pump and could be changed later, mine didn't show much wear after 105,000 miles

The accessory drive belt can be changed at anytime, what I would do is have the tensioners and pulleys associated with the cam belt changed at the same time though

On an 07MY, it is strongly advisable to replace the oil pump at the same time Thumbs Up

Thanks for the responses what would be a reasonable price as I have been quoted anything up to £800. As mentioned iny previous post I have located a landrover specialist in York and they are willing to do all 3 belts and pullys for £425 all in.

I charge £400 for both timing belts and tensioners, both front idler pulleys, and a replacement aux drive belt

Allow another £200 to replace the oil pump

I have heard L & R in Speke, L'pool are ok but have never used them myself at the moment.
