Wheel Bearing Genuine or Not

Morning All,

I need to change my front passenger side wheel bearing following an MOT advisory. Being tight I don't like paying more than I have to but also feel I should buy genuine. Genuine or Timken are £100+ but none branded chinese versions are more around the £40 mark. Has anyone any bad experiences of the non branded ones or should I listen to my head not my wallet and go genuine?

Thanks in advance. 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE- Cairns Blue with 22" Stormers

No need for genuine but go for Timken. Thumbs Up

Steve @ Advanced Factors did sell the cheapo ones but he stopped as he wasn't happy with them. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

as far as I'm aware of, and I'm basing this on the fact that I bought a genuine LR front offside hub last year which had "Timken" text on it, that they are manufactured by Timken. The text isn't entirely visible, but it is there. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

I went for timken - no issues . Less than oem at least in USA. People using chinese bearings in other cars report having to change them a year later - so I would avoid cheaping out on that ....
