Company Car Tax

Just wondering if anybody has any little gems or hints on reducing this.
I know is about value, co2 etc, but worth an ask.

There is no way to reduce the tax per say, but ways to make it a bit more palatable!
I always buy the basic spec, and usually in a 'free' colour, I don't like giving the tax man £200/year just because blue looks nice! Same for pointless options (hence mine is an SE)
Are you a shareholder in the company? Remember it is taxed at more or less the same as a dividend, so if you are in the 40% tax bracket, the real cost is nearer 32%

Thanks Dave, I am a shareholder, and yes 40%.
Our accountant is very old fashioned and probably would prefer if I rode a horse around. I asked the question and he basically said "You pays what you owes"

Whatever you are paying, itll be way less than some others

When I was in Malaysia, company car tax for a 5.0SC would have cost you just over £6,000 a year in tax alone

I'm not so sure about that...the below is based on my 5.0SC here in the UK (if it was a company car which it isn't).......obviously 40% bracket.

Ah when I made my Post I was referring to £6k for just the tax disc Smile

Coupled with aroind upwards of £180k for a new RRS SC

Not sure then how the tax details would work but I'm guessing more than the UK

Just built up a Cayenne Hybrid to over 70k, with a co2 at 79 the monthly tax bill is half of a basic HSE.
More reliable, better customer service, just need to get over the looks. Current Volvo XC90 R Design T8

You could have an RRS Hybrid if you wanted but before options it will cost you some £82,000............. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Pointless car its co2 is 164. as opposed to the Cayenne at 79, but same 3.0L V6 engine, does not compute. Current Volvo XC90 R Design T8

You can't see it when you're driving it. And when you're not driving it you're not looking at it. Easy. Thumbs Up

For a big chunk of folding, I'd rather have the less good looking car! Having said that, the RRS2 isn't exactly a looker when compared to the simple good looks of the first version. So a Cayenne isn't that bad a choice in terms of looks when compared to RRS2. Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
