Fault codes read

So today I had the common egr valve symptoms engine light on dash and limited power till 2k revs plus
Had the Fault codes read and the AA man reckons it's actually the egr sensor and not the egr valve itself
Does this sound right to any of you, he advised me that he's cleared the fault and I should get some egr/DPf cleaner from halfruads and if it comes back change the sensor

Highly likely to be the standard EGR issue.

Best thing you can do is just blank them (complete with a software patch/remap) and let your engine breathe clean air. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I didn't think blanking a 2007 was possible if so what am I looking at in terms of cost and somewhere in London that can do it

Yes, it can be done, but requires the software modification in addition to the physical blanks. Normally, this is done as part of a remap. Thumbs Up

You can either choose to simply delete the EGR function from the software (some do this better than others) or you can fit emulators such as these...

...which allow the car/a diagnostic tool to see what it thinks are fully functioning EGR valves. Wink

You could expect to pay £350-£500 for a reputable remap (be wary of cheaper ones). I'm not sure what Pete Bell's cost is for the remap in addition to the emulators (the emulators need the software modifying anyway so I assume it wouldn't be the full amount in addition). Thumbs Up

Geoff (member "geoff." on here - note the full stop) can fit the BAS emulators and apply the software patch/remap etc. - he comes to you (though, he's often very busy). Smile

Alive Tuning also come highly recommended. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
