Greece 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Fuji White
Manifold snapped stud

For the last couple of weeks I could hear a squeaking noice like the one of a loose fan belt.
I was about to order from UK some other front brake parts(pads and disc brakes),and lower front suspension bushes. So I included a belt tensioner too.
Parts arrived and fitted, but upon having the car delivered back, the squek was still there. So after a more carefull inspection this time,we spotted the squeak was coming from the manifold.
I had read several threads involving that issue with the 3.6td engine. Some had to do with the manifold seal, and some with snapped studs

Everybody said. that the top of the car had to be taken off to rectify this issue.

My mechanic, indie shop, said no need for that, and that he could gain access from the left side arch wheel. He had dealt once more with the same problem and that is how he done it

I was there when he started doing so.He removed the wheel and the wheel arch protection trim. Some other bits and pieces and reached the manifold screws.Of course he was struggling to get the right angle to work in there. One last manifold protective heat plate seem to stay in the way.It took its screws off but he could not get it completly off the way.
So he was pushing it off the way, in respect to which screw he wanted to work on,he managed to take them all off, apart from the snapped one!
Unfortunetly the stud is cut deep inside, unlike the other case he dealt with, and it would be a very difficult one.
So Monday he will continue, and try to remove the stud.
I will keep you posted

He had done it!
He removed the snapped stud after welding a thick electrode in the hole. I do not know more details.
