United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Baltic Blue
Front bumper bottom section

Hi

I'm pretty new to range rovers, (and the forum - Hi to all), and have a 2012 HSE SDV6 in baltic blue. Aside from being £30k cheaper than a 2013 model car, I mostly prefer the looks of the 2012 era RR line up, but the thing that I do like on the newer models, (specifically the RR, as against the Sport), is the slab like front end. I do mean that positively, it has a solid, imposing look, without the sporty look of the autobiography and HST models, which, for me, always seem to have a bit too much grill going on. If that makes sense.

Poking around on the internet has led me to the conclusion that colour coding the lower half of the front bumper on my car, including the cross piece the number plate is on, (currently black), and the piece that runs side to side underneath the plate, (sort of dark grey colour), will achieve a similar look by making the front look wider and bigger, but I also found the picture below, that I am curious about, specifically the bottom trim on the bumper, that is silver in the picture. I'm not sure what this would be called? Or if it has a name? On all the cars I have seen, (not many), mine included, this piece is dark, and the middle section immediately below the number plate is recessed. The rest of the bumper looks identical to mine, except for this part. So, to the question, does anyone know if this piece is available and where from, or even what it might be called so I can search for something more intelligent than "the bit at the bottom of a range rover sport bumper"? The picture looks like it comes from range rover, but the only accessories brochure I can find doesn't mention it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Julian

Superb, thanks for that. Now I can find loads of them. Amazing how much it helps when you know what it is you're looking for!

It's possibly the last thing I'd have thought it would be called though.

Cheers

Julian

Did you manage to find the silver towing eye cover? I too am trying to locate one, however they all seem to be specific to an autobiography only bumper which has slightly different fixings

The one in the picture is simply a standard toe eye cover this can be easily removed and painted Atlas Silver. Thumbs Up

On my 2010 sport its recessed in the middle. I thought there might be one to fit the standard bumper that has the autobiography or similar to the picture shape?
Or a kind sir might like a new project and swap his autobiography for my hse Mr. Green

Sorry, missed this message. I have come to the conclusion that a lot of it is illusion based on the colour. The silver cover was standard, (I think), on the supercharged non body kit, whilst other non autobiography models are the dark grey. When you look at cars with the silver cover, it can look like it isn't recessed from one angle, but then from another, it looks like it is. That said, in the picture I posted, I still think it looks like a different part that doesn't have the recess, but I have completely failed to find a part number for it.

So for now, I have bought a set of standard bumpers and two eye cover, and I'm going to get them colour coded and the tow eye cover done in atlas silver, and see how that looks. If I do ever find a different part, it is just the 4 body bolt thingies that hold it in, so not difficult to swap out.

Only reason for the new bumpers is so I can swap back to standard for any sale later on. Still need to get some of the side sill moulding things, and then I can get on and sort that out.

Cheers

Julian
