hi all
first post , bought my RRS just over a month ago and have to say i love it!
BUT , "engine system fault" / limp mode, came up a few days ago , on route for a diagnostic check it stopped and wouldn't start .
i had it recovered and they found code p1260 low fuel pressure system issue.

I'm going to change the pump in tank myself , my question is can i access from above under rear seat area or does the tank have to come out?

The tank has to be dropped to gain access but the code can come up for a few reasons. You can do a few more checks before condemning the pump:

i always appreciate it when the original poster returns to explain the out come so here goes.... )))

code P1260 low fuel pressure system fault .

engine turns with no start / ignition suspected fuel loss.
theres a pipe drivers rear engine with a shrader tyre valve fitted, turning the engine while pressing the centre pin down shows no fuel from rear / tank .

tank down, 6 bolts with no vehicle parts obstructing the removal.
the pipework above the tank is the tricky bit as its clipped to the tank with sponge soundproofing trapping it to the body of the tank , note where they go .

the access hole from above is tight, the pump is clamped with a green unit to the bottom of the inside of the tank . it comes out as a whole assembly with pipes and wires everywhere .

12v directly to the pump on the work bench shows its failed .
a tap with a hammer starts the pump up again !
two minutes later the pump required another tap to get it going ..
eurocar parts unit was completely different so i bought one from bear march nearby.

reassemble was straight forward .
turning engine with the schrader valve depressed until fuel comes through a second later the car started . problem solved

it took us four hours lying on our backs with trolley jacks etc.
my local landcover specialist wanted 4.5 hours to do the work((

Hi all, after reading this post im left wondering could this be the whiring culprit on my sport ?? seems to be toward the rear, less noticeable on acceleration but more prominent going down hill or coasting, less fuel requirement ?? please help  2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!!

Can someone tell me if a very quiet wirring noise from the rear of my 2015 L494 when stationary, is likely to be the fuel pump. No error codes or any performance issues, but just want to know if I should worry and how big a job it is for a dealer to do under extended warrantee.. Also do they just get noisier or just eventually fail. It is only audible when stationary, and only sometimes at that
