Yes, Sally, as others are saying, it comes with InControl Secure which is the Cat 6 tracker.

The subscription for the 3 year warranty period is included and InControl Remote allows you to check the car on your iPhone including location, lock status and fuel. It's also got contact numbers if your car breaks down or if it is stolen. Mark

It also has the ability to record info about each journey if you want to - from ignition on to off...

- Date and Time
- Duration
- Average Speed
- Distance
- MPG

The info is showing better mpg than the 14.2 the car is telling me, I expect I need to reset the trip meter.

I do actually have a quality issue with the car now, nothing to do with the good folk at Solihull but the dealer who, for all the practice they get, cannot attach a rear number plate straight. It's only down a few mm at one end but is immediately obvious when you see it. I'd fix it myself but for the fact that, in addition to the two screws, it's stuck to the tailgate like a limpet with double-sided tape. I'll let them get it off...

It's a pity LR do not provide (so far as I can see) screw holes for the number plate and require the fitter to get out his drill. That's why I fit my own accessories, my attention to detail is better.

Incidentally, wade sensing doesn't work if you have side steps so just as well I am sufficiently flight-of-foot not to need them. Mark

My sons new car, not JLR, has a personal plate put on by the dealer. Ther put the screws in totally the wrong place such that you couldn't see the reg properly. I got my own and when until them off saw that they had drilled their own holes when some where there already. The lack of care is frustrating. My mates Mercedes had its plate crooked too. As you say it stands out to us!!

Can the plates be stuck to the RRS so no screws? Or is it curved? My dealer has my docs to put my wife's plate on ours.

There are screwholes on Rrs1 but that doesn't stop expertly trained LR technicians drilling and screwing their own as I found out every time I fit my private plates Evil or Very Mad

I insist they are stuck on now but even that was a fail on my last rrs when they used a screwdriver to prise the previous plates off Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Swapped my rear plate myself and just used some hefty 3M double sided tape. Also went with a plate trimmed to specifically fit the RRS2 which makes such a difference; from Demon Plates if anyones interested. SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

SOLD - 64 plate Aleutian Silver Supercharged

SOLD - 63 plate Corris SDV6 Autobiography

I have seen a RRS1 with fitted rear plates but not a new one. I will be changing mine on arrival to get rid of euro symbol and must look at these. Do you have a picture showing it especially with that great colour car you have.

do you know if its OK with the deployable side steps?

Enjoy your car by the way its a beauty.

Sloppy work by dealers just should not happen on a 90k+ car! dealers never fail to disappoint though, when i picked up my evoque there were numerous issues, tailgate only opened fully about 20% of the time, the TV did not work, the spare wheel was missing. then my detailer found a hair under the paint of the wing!

I've been having a look at this company - https://www.fourdotdesignerplates.co.uk (picked up the link on here somewhere).

Really like the options to tailor it to your hearts content.

So now I have the first problem down to JLR themselves. The missing cooler is an ordering SNAFU, the sloping number plate is down to somebody at the dealership who knows little and cares less. Now we find that the SVR's tyres have no air in them!!

So, the TPMS is not working, apparently. JLR TPMS has always been pants. In the Evoque, you could never see the pressures in the tyres, in the RRS you can (supposedly) but only if the engine is not running. In my 2 Porsches and my Mercedes, they can be displayed at will when you are storming down the Autobahn (and I had slowed down from 165mph to take the picture)...

In other news...

The radar cruise control is fantastic, makes for relaxed driving on the motorway, slows down for cars in front, speeds up when you move into the outside lane. Managed to get 26 mpg on a relaxed cruise but a single high energy overtake or hill climb sends that figure plummeting. If you know Cheltenham, it stormed up the hill to the Air Balloon roundabout.

I dipped my toe into the Dynamic Mode pond. Wow! Later gear up shifts, earlier gear down shifts, seemingly harder riding. really tight, love it.

InControl Apps up and running, needs more apps to justify the expense. InControl WiFi working fine using a Giff-Gaff SIM to provide a local wi-fi hot spot. Not clear yet whether it's better than using a phone on 3G direct.

Audio system not especially happy with an iPod Classic, same as in the Evoque. Seems fine with an iPhone 6+ both on Bluetooth and USB connection but you can only have one of them running at a time.

Best sound quality comes from using real CDs; if you are using digital files, you should use a lossless format, the high-end Meridian stereo is good enough to tell the difference between those and MP3s.

Car is going in on Monday to have the cooler from their demonstrator fitted, a new number plate and hopefully the TPMS sorted. Mark
