Not sure about that particular lance, but the best way is to experiment, it depends on water hardness as well, the softer the water the better the foam.

The general idea of foaming etc is to get as much dirt and grime off before you touch the bodywork with any mit or sponge, thus reducing the risk of damaging the finish of the paintwork.

Make sure EVERY TIME you use it, fill the bottle back up and flush the foam out of the lance. If you don't after a couple of months it will block up and it's a bit tricky to take apart, to clean it properly. Had mine a year now and still works like new and use it 3 times a week MY 13 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition

Jet washing also scratches the car by applying preasure on the dirty areas. Theres so many arguments for or against rinsing before foaming but altimately do what you think. Some people like the look of foam sticking on the car, personally I rinse lightly then foam and this is what I think works best. In my opinion. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST. |

If you are going to jetwash first then make sure you have a nice wide spray pattern set and have it hitting the car at a 45 degree angle. This way the pressure is reduced (spread over a wider area) and also any grit that is dislodged should be deflected off the car rather than being pounded into the paintwork. |

Amen to that - cleaning the car at this time of year isn't that much fun if I'm totally honest |

Totally mate! My paintwork is in appalling condition right now as I've only had it 3 months and the weather's been pants.. can't wait for spring either to get out there with the polisher and sort it all out.
