New RRS - swapping tyres - TPMS?

My dealer has said they want £200 to fit new alloy wheels and tyres to my car as it involves resetting the TPMS!?!? These are a set of 22'' brand new tyres and alloys I bought directly from Overfinch UK (genuine RR wheels).

Are they having me on - surely these can go straight on after being balanced?

Right I can answer this myself. The RRS tyre and alloys set contain TPMS valves. If I am getting a new set without these valves they can be taken out of my current tyres and put in to the new set - hence the set up costs mentioned above. Could probably get it done much cheaper at a local tyre place but would let the dealer do it as it would be ready for pick up.

PS - there are chances the TPMS sensors can break when removing from the current wheels - in this case will need to buy new ones at circa £40 a piece.

Hope this helps someoene Smile

There's a Guy on e-bay selling set's of four sensors for £90.00 a set with free postage. Genuine Parts as I bought a couple of set's when I fitted Overfinch wheels, instead of removing them from the old rims.

Cheers
