Why is it sealed? Does the cold air do bad things in there? |

The diesel engines need the FBH running quite a lot in cold weather. This suggests that the engine might struggle to get to, and stay at, operating temperature in very cold conditions. This grill will reduce the cold airflow through the radiator and so help the engine stay warm.

So I have a hawke grille on mine and I'm now wondering should I pop on a blanked one over winter as this one has lots of air allowance. It sort of makes me think this is the reason to why my steering fluid went overheated and black on the cold snow days we had. Since then I replaced the fluid and it's been grand. But we had snow again and the same issue. Would that be the case? I'm happy just topping up at the minute if it happens again. But Fi gers crossed.
