What would make my powersteering fluid go black?

I replaced my fluids twice but it keeps going nice and smooth on turning then turns hard and the fluid goes back to black. Raging, think I'm going to need to go back to the indie and get that new rack. But when oiled it drives fab and smooth. Any ideas on what it is?

The fluid is over heating during use, check the cooling circuit for build up of leaves / debris.

Thanks man! I'll do that today. It seems to make the steering go heavy when its dark, I've lots here so keep topping it up and using a baster to take out the old. But its not too classy Wink

I assume that you are using the proper Land Rover PAS Fluid and not standard PS Fluid? Confused
