I have heard that the A3 will be one of the possible test roads for 'pay as you go' Road Tax. This is particulary bad for me but I am now wondering how long this has been in the planning. Over the past year a series of cameras have been installed the lengton of the A3 from at least Guilford to London. I wonder if the government has already decided on this policy or it might just be coincidence. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Going on what has been written in the stock e mail reply from10 Downing Street to all signatories on the now infamous road pricing petition VA. I would say that this has been in the planning for a long time.

I have a far more simple solution. Make the 1 in 15 motorists on the road who pay either no tax or insurance pay. That should bring in loads of money and no law abiding tax payer would complain - surely a vote winner. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

What cameras are you referring to? I haven't seen any cameras that could be used for such a purpose on the Guildford stretch of the A3? Darren Griffin

Good point about those cameras, VA. I wondered what they were when they were putting them up....
