Bad vibration then nothing??

Hello all , I was driving on the motorway around 70MPH then all of a sudden I had the whole car vibrate, I eased off the gas peddle down to 50 as that's when it stopped vibrating then sped back up to 70 and no vibration. .? Very weird any thoughts

check the rear EPB shoes, or check for a sticky brake caliper. My money is on the EPB shoes have started to disintegrate the lining.

Best get it looked at pronto. (use my brake bible if it helps you. Thumbs Up ) Bodsys Brake Bible

That's funny as I was on my way back from the garage I bought it from as my EPB stuck on but I managed to release by switching ignition off then on again. But the plugged it in and said that they could find no problem and it works ok. If this do fail while motorway speeds what's the worst that could happen?

the worst that can happen, you mean apart from a plague of locusts and symptomatic pestilence indicating the end of the world if nigh.....?

If the shoes have delaminated, then they can fold over on them selves and cause the disk to get very very hot, smoke billowing from the offending wheel and the material wearing down until it's metal on metal contact. Sparks flying from the remnants of the shoe and setting the car on fire, in turn, setting the now semi stricken vehicle on the outside of the motorway as a petrol tanker with a leaky safety valve carreers into it, to be met by the overhead plane that mistakes the red hot disk for a landing spot. just at the point that the 11.27 from Euston derails at the bridge overhead............

or if you have an ex wife, she may come back into your life to nurse you forever more!
so that's the worst.....

However, normally they vibrate for a bit, then when that wears down, the grinding noise gets too annoying and you have to replace the epb shoes, new disks and new pads. Bodsys Brake Bible
