HELP pls! Advice for new driver speeding on variable limit

Hey guys I hope you can help me, just received a notice of intended prosecution for going 74 on the M1 jn 6a-7, the variable speed limit was 50 on this stretch:( Honestly didn't know the cameras were in action and ignored the variable speed limit signs.

Problem is I passed my test in sept 2013 and am worried this means an instant ban! Am I right? Should I accept the offence and risk the 6 points as im under 2 years holding a license?

Hope you guys can offer some advice on what to do here

Hey, sorry I can't offer any advice however we have these on the M6 and I was only with my friend last week who sped through them and said they didn't work although he hasn't recieved anything in the post as far as I know. How long did it take for the letter to come? Im sure I have never riligously stuck to those bariable limits either.

Not the best intro for a new member. We do have a welcome section for new members. Thumbs Up
I don't think its the help of a RRS forum you need, i think you need to sit your test again.
Why ignore a speed limit Question
Its restricted for a reason. Safety. Banging Head
Don't be surprised if you get banned. In my opinion, you deserve it. Whistle

Thats the trouble with new drivers ,think they are the greatest. They go off as soon as they get a full licence. With a powerful vehicle, and drive at 24 MPH over the speed limit. Get caught out and then cry i didn't think the cameras were working. Well news for you they were working itisme

Wow! You guys take yourselves way too seriously. This is obviously a wind-up. Why would ANYONE (let alone a new driver) join a (random?) motoring forum and start by asking for advice after doing limit + 24mph and ignoring speed signs & cameras thinking they were insignificant and/or inactive? Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Because that is exactly what this type of idiot would do. They are so thick they dont think any of these rules apply to them. Until they get caught out itisme

Same "benefit" that some people get by deliberately starting rumours and spreading misinformation. Not all rumours fall in this category though, some can be very lucrative Laughing

I don't get it either but apparently it is a character trait. Have a read if you are interested: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet) Thumbs Up Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
