My 2008 RRS just came back from the garage after the alternator went and while the car was in, they called to tell me the lower tailgate was not working the top part isn't working either. We had this problem rectified no more that 6 months ago and now it has happened again? Can this be right!? I have tried everything I can think of and the garage has said it needs a new part ordering which means + labour is not going to be even more so after coughing up 700 for anew alternator + labour today!!

Any ideas on how I can release the boot manually? Or electronically ?
