Well done. BTW remember Fiats's rust problems! I think we sometimes took back with rose tinted glasses and although I'm too young to remember 30 years ago I very much doubt quality was better! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

i was here to air my views, and yes the state of these cars have alot to be desired build wise, but without any doubt,4x4 market there isnt anything else to come even close to the range rover sport,i have 4 options with them, but i dont intend to hand over to them,a EU car that they said is worth £6k more here, and let them make profit,so if they agree to produce me a 3rd car and send it to holland im happy to give them 3rd time luck attempt |

I think you might be surprised to learn that there are more cars manufactured in the UK today than there were 20 years ago. And many manufacturers recognise that the quality and efficency they get from their car plants in the UK are the equal or better of any of their other plants accross the world (including Japan). Nissan, Landrover, GM, Honda, Toyota, Bentley, Mini and Peugot (although shutting soon) are the main marques with substantial manufacturing capacity in the UK, exporting cars from here all over the world. And businesses which supply the components to UK plants and other European plants have also grown significantly in the last 25 years. The fact that these plants aren't actually British owned is not that relevant anymore. Indeed some might say it is an advantage as the huge capital needed to build the factories and the funding of trading losses comes from overseas. Having said that, many UK investors and institutions have sizeable stakes in most global manufacturers, so the concept of a manufacturer being British or American or Japanese or French is now a bit out of date...... Well said, don't forget the "Cottage Industry" Morgan, Bristol etc, etc, etc. British Engineering is a very sought after comodity all over the world, this is my Industry and I love the fact that there is so much respect from the manufacturers for "British" knowledge!
