It's a two wheel drive Freelander with a crop and Range Rover badge. Biggest rip off I've witnessed a company getting away with. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I considered one for the wife, but in the end got her the Freelander. For similar reasons to Bradders. Currently driving:

The Evoque is exactly as two wheel drive as the Freelander i.e. most of the time. They share drivetrains and use a Haldex system in the rear diff to provide drive to the rear when required. LR do make a two wheel drive FL2/Evoque for those who want the look without the ability. Shame. Let's not forget that RRS1 is a D3 with RR badges and less space. So there is heritage there... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I had an Evoque for nine days earlier this year (whilst having my TDV8's turbos replaced). Not to my taste but actually not a bad vehicle. It's lacking interior space in the back/boot when one considers that it's as wide as RRS1 and not hugely shorter. The view out is pretty poor thanks to the silly low roof line / high waist line relationship. Handling is pretty good although I found the steering to be pretty dead. Brakes were excellent. I liked the way you get post-facelift RRS1 interior look/feel too. Would I consider one? I might do if I didn't need big towing capacity or proper off road ability (the Evoque/FL2 aren't bad off road but they can't live with their bigger siblings' abilities). If I wanted a 4WD car (rather than a 4x4) for just me or me+1 then I might consider one, yes. It's a good vehicle. It's probably not a good family vehicle though as it's lacking in interior space. Overall, I prefer my RRS though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I like the way it look but for a 2.4 family with dog it just isn't big enough!

You are quite correct sir. Sport was more of an upgrade on disco, calling an Evoque a Range Rover is a bit of a trade discription issue, it seems JLR are now using the name to cash in on previous name but it just dilutes the brand name. Next they will be naming it a Range Rover Freelander.......... 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀 TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!! Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈 Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱 Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜 |
