well there is an option in post 2010 MY cars that 'timed climate' can be enabled which allows you to pre-programme your fuel burning heater to come on at particular times to pre-heat the car.
Useful on cold mornings ...have a cup of coffee and the car is ready and warmed up when you get in.
Better yet is the remote control option which allows you to use a fob to turn the heater on before you go to the car.
All defrosted warmed etc and ready to go .....mmmmmmmmm Thumbs Up

the timed climate is just a software option that needs enabled....the remote option needs a few parts
a remote, a receiver an aeriel and some car config....=> result is toasty car on demand.

Prices have gone up since. Module alone costs more than that now...

Suppose they have to justify that £1000 option box somehow Rolling Eyes
