IID Tool question

I am considering buying one of these as I have a couple of changes I want to make to my MY2010 (Timed park heating and towing electrics initially) and the instructions from Britpart contain the following statement:

Note: For optimal performance, it is recommended to update the instrument pack ECU software to
the latest version (2012 look) on 2010 and 2011 vehicles.

Could one of the IID Tool users please tell me what is different about the 2012 look and why this would optimise performance?

Also, are there any Landrover Warranty issues that I should be concerned about by using this tool.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I have a IID as well and not sure what the update does but would like to know?
As you say instructions do not give much of an explanation regarding changes.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Santorini Black

Looks a bit cleaner, and background is more "black"

No apparent difference in how the car works though Thumbs Up

Can't see how it would affect warranty. It's very very rare to have to get a dealer to reflash the instrument pack.
If it went faulty at some point, they'd replace with the one for it and then you just update it again. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

LR Appproved warranty is not administered by Land Rover, it is a company called Car Care I believe, who's policies are available through LR Thumbs Up

As Ian says, if you had an issue, they would reflash/replace as req.
