bleeping noise when trailer electrics plugged in???

Hi Folks... ive recently fitted an electrical connection for towing etc, but as soon as I couple the plug to my RRS a bleeping noise starts from the inside rear of the car and its not the indicator bleep...
Any suggestions to silence this pain in the a**e....
