[Wanted] RRS 8 speed SDV6 HSE

First post on this forum but I've been on Disco3 for some time.

As above I'm going to be looking for an 8 speed SDV6 sub 50k miles at the end of the month.

I'm hoping that a member may have a suitable vehicle either on lease or owned and is approaching the end of the lease or considering buying a new vehicle.

I'm thinking that I would like to buy it from you at slightly more than the dealer offers as a px? If you don't ask you don't get!

As an example a friend of mine had an 11 plate HSE with 40k miles which his company had leased from new. He contacted Lex and they wanted £25k plus VAT so £30,000 in total, he bought the car. I

went to the auctions yesterday and a 61 plate RRS SE with 54k miles went for 32,000 on the hammer and then add £900 buyers premium.... There were only 2 RRS in the sale so competition was fierce.

Mannheim have a auction house in Colchester which seem to sell a lot of land rovers but that's quite a trek from Bristol with no guarantee of a purchase.

Thanks for looking

Welcome Stavvy Thumbs Up
Both of the vehicles you mentioned above are TDV6 motors with the 6 speed gearbox and not the SDV6 8 speed you are looking to buy, so the comparasion could be ££££'s off.
Here are a few examples..

Happy searching. Wink

Just becareful when searching though, as some dealers don't know their arse from their elbow. Shocked
Typical example..

This IS NOT a SDV6.
We call them Slackstones on here. Whistle
Now you know why.

Thanks Ady,

I thought the 8 speed box came in at the same time as the pop up gear selector.

I'd settle for a 6 speed but have a few more quid for an 8.

Better read up a bit more on here to bring myself upto speed!

Yes, the 8 speed box came in September 2011 with a pop up dial. I would definitely pay the extra for the SDV6. Test drive both the TDV6 & the SDV6 and you will see they are miles apart. You also get a massive 10 Bhp increase in performance with the SDV6 Thumbs Up Laughing But it drives sooo much smoother with the 8 speed box.

Were there or are there any teething problems with the 11/12 8 speed cars?

No problems with my 2012 RRS, Currently on 36k miles.

Just need to get the suspension knocking noise checked out, common problem on the RRS. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Usually ARB replacement (anti-roll bar bushes) solves it. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool
