Possible recall.

Has this been seen before?

Meanwhile, in the UK, Land Rover is recalling due to an electrical fault that may cause fire in the engine bay, even with the engine switched off. The UK recall affects Range Rovers and Range Rover Sports built between 9 March 2012 and 22 Jan 2013, VIN SALGA2KEXDA000001 to SALGA2JE9DA110085, and SALWA2PF1EA000001 to SALWA2PE9EA000061. Land Rover will rectify the problem by replacing the cooling fan assembly. UK owners should contact Land Rover’s customer service on 0370 5000 500; the Recall Number is P044.

Does this apply to the L494 model? The date ranges seem too early. Regards

Malcolm

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

On the L494 model there are several recalls which have been done to mine:

Replacement battery and battery tray. Apparently the battery casing is being rubbed against and can fracture.
Air con hose
2 software updates, one of which adds a nag screen to the multimedia screen as you start the vehicle. Apart from that I've not noticed any difference ref the updates.
BTW mine is Oct 2013 so not sure if the above covers recent builds.

Here is the complete news piece.

In the United States, Land Rover is recalling 28,037 vehicles due to a fault with the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). If failed, any tyre pressure loss will not be reported to the driver.

Vehicles affected are Range Rovers and Range Rover Sports built between 16 September 2013 and 30 June 2014 (Range Rovers from VIN SALGS2EF2EA136853 to SALGS2WFXEA180114, and Range Rover Sports from VIN SALWR2WF4EA312792 to SALWG2WF2EA383012). Also effected are Discovery 4s (LR4s) built between 16 September 2013 and 30 June 2014 (VIN SALAG2D44DA692894 to SALLAAAV6EA726009.) Land Rover dealers can fix the fault with an upgrade to the Body Control Unit (BCU) software, except on 2013 model year Discoverys, which will require new wheel sensors due to software incompatibility. Owners in the USA can contact Land Rover customer service at 800 637 6837 and quote Recall Number P050.

But it is a lot better than it used to be pre update. Before you always had to acknowledge the nag, now for me at least, it goes away quite quickly.

Maps of France & Spain still out of date though... 2014 MY RRS HSE Dynamic
2000 Porsche Boxster S
2004 BMW X5 (Gone)
