2009 Commandshift TDV8 struggling to start.

Hi,
I have a 59 plate RRS and at first I thought it was the battery but I have tested the battery and alternator and they are fine.
The issue i'm having is that if I leave it for a while (less than 24 hours) the car struggles to start.

I have to try and start it 5+ times before it will start and sometimes the battery went dead after quite a few attempts.
I spoke to a mechanic I know and he said it may be something to do with the fuelling, maybe a new filter or it could be that the fuel is going straight back to the tank??

Any ideas?

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hi, did this become apparent when the weather turned cold? Are you switching on and waiting for the glowplug light on the dash to go out before trying to start? Five tries before the battery dies seems not good. Check the battery amp hours and CCA are correct spec as per the handbook. Fully charge the battery overnight and see if that helps. If still no joy then maybe have the fault codes read with the proper tool - not just a generic and have a garage test the glow plugs. Changing the glow plugs can be a problem and they are expensive so check everything else first? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I've only had it for 3 weeks so can't really compare but the first time i noticed it, it was a really cold morning.

I will try tomorrow with waiting a while before starting it but my business partner has a 59 Vogue and his starts straight away (same engine).
