Been looking at this cable for a while half hanging out just in front of the screen, when i gave it a tug an end appeared, obviously just been tucked out o fthe way.

Any idea's what it might be for, it seems to disappear up the door pillar, everything works ok and no warnings on the dash etc. Didn't want to start pulling things apart just to find out it's an add on.

That looks like a live feed for a speed detector to me. Perhaps fitted by the previous owner.

the connector is a male type, about 4mm, never thought to try it to see if it was live, will have to get my meter out when i get home. Still puzzled as to why it would go up the door pillar, no tnoticed any other ends hanging out either at the back or front of the car.
Starting to wonder now if it has had anything to do with a pushbutton and indicating light that seems to do nothing located on the light switch panel

It will be interesting to see if the switch makes the cable live.

Probably someone hard wired a sat nav in?
